Picture 3: The picture depicts a scene at the beach whereby a woman donning a cap is teaching a group of students about building a sandcastle. I assume they are building a sandcastle because of the large, flat sandy base that everyone is reaching out to pat, ensuring its stability. I think that the woman on the right is responsible for conducting their outdoor activities, and ensure that everyone in the group participates in the respective activities.
I think that the group might pick up litter at the beach to learn about the effects of pollution, or learn about marine life whilst sitting on the beach, enjoying the lapping waves of the sea.
1. My CCA is basketball and as I am one of the school team members, therefore, a competition I had entered would be the east zone basketball completion.
-I took it quite seriously because I have a passion for basketball. I also participated in numerous trainings to get ready for the competition. Furthermore, the school places an emphasis that we should do our best in whatever we do, and live without regrets. Thus, I had to ensure that I performed to my optimum in each competition, as opportunities in a game only come once or twice. If is gone, there is a high chance that it will never return again.
-Yes, because this way I can challenge my abilities with people outside my school and thus, get a gauge of my abilities as compared to others. Competitions also allow me to broaden my social circle by mingling with people whom share the same interests as I do, and who knows, a friendship may blossom.
2. I agree with this statement because I feel that children these days would rather turn to the computer for enjoyment rather than go outdoors to play under the hot.
-I think that this is because computer games have evolved to be too realistic. Thus, the vivid graphics excites the child in ways that outdoors could not, simply because, what happens in a computer game, especially shooting games or games that involves spells or killing of monsters- those things just do not happen in real life.
-I think there might be an increase in the number of myopia cases in Singapore. There would also be more cases of whereby students would neglect their homework so as to play their beloved computer games. This would result in many students being unable to cope in their studies.
